Came here with my wife to celebrate Valentine's a little early, and we would highly recommend! All of the food was excellent. The truffle fries came out well-salted, crisp, and piping hot and you could actually taste truffle. The truffle pasta was well-seasoned, and cooked to just the right texture. My wife got the scallops and they had an excellent sear on them. I got the beef rib with risotto which was incredibly tender. Everything here was well-seasoned and came out hot and fresh, something that we really appreciate. I didn't get our server's name, but he had great recommendations and was very attentive. They also have a happy hour menu which is nice, because it is fairly pricey.
Potente is next level, food, service, and a quiet atmosphere to truly enjoy your meal. I’ve been several times and it always impresses me. The spaghetti is a must. The tequila flight is truly divine. Don’t sleep on this place. Special occasion or just an enjoyable dinner it’s worth the trip. You won’t ever forget this dining experience.
Came here for our anniversary, wanting great food and a romantic atmosphere. This place did not disappoint. Service was smooth and friendly from start to finish. The food came out fast and everything was amazing. This isn’t a cheap place, but it was 100% worth the splurge. Definitely a place I would come back to and recommend.
My husband decided to bring me here for my birthday and this was truly such an amazing experience! Abraham made our experience top tier! He has extremely knowledgeable with the dishes and was very welcoming. I thank him so much for adding to this dining experience. “21 Questions” was my go to cocktail and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious as well. We finished with the creme brûlée for dessert. Abraham served us an expresó martini as well! The service here was phenomenal.
I’ve lived in Houston for years and somehow Potente never made it onto my radar. After one dinner, I’m genuinely questioning how that happened. What stood out most wasn’t a single dish—it was the consistency. Every course felt intentional, the cocktails were just as impressive as the food, and there wasn’t a weak link all night. The truffle pasta absolutely lives up to its reputation, but what surprised me most was how strong everything else was alongside it. It’s rare for a restaurant to leave me thinking about the entire experience weeks later, but Potente did exactly that. Between the food, service, and atmosphere, this is a place I’ll be recommending and returning to. If Potente isn’t on your list yet, it should be.
Last night my family and I had dinner at Potente before a show at Jones Hall. The food was excellent as was the service. My daughter, (9yo), couldn’t get over the shrimp bisque. It really was outstanding. The wagyu carpaccio and grilled octopus starters were perfection and the pasta with fresh truffle shavings was absolutely decadent. We can’t wait to return to Potente soon! From the first course to the final bite, this was a masterclass in culinary balance. Every dish felt intentional, featuring incredibly fresh ingredients that were elevated by a brilliant play of textures. The flavors don't just sit on the palate; they burst and evolve. It is rare to find a kitchen that maintains this level of consistency across an entire menu. In my opinion, it’s only a matter of time before the Michelin inspectors take notice. Truly an elite experience. Exceptional from start to finish. The truffle pasta lived up to the hype, the steak was perfectly cooked, and the service was impeccable. Elegant without feeling pretentious, with an atmosphere that makes you want to linger over another glass of wine. We’ll definitely be back.

For appetizers, I ordered the Carpaccio, featuring Texas Prime Wagyu, horseradish ricotta, pickled lily mushrooms, and 1836 olive oil. The flavors were perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. My wife ordered the Lattuga, made with romaine chiffonade, boquerone crostini, parmesan ribbons, and Caesar dressing. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. For our entrées, I ordered the salmon, which was cooked to perfection, while my wife enjoyed a spaghetti pasta dish that was incredibly delicious. Every bite of every dish exceeded our expectations. As amazing as the food was, the hospitality truly made the evening unforgettable. Rodney and Amy went above and beyond to make our dining experience first-class. They took the time to explain the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and ensured our glasses were never empty. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests were outstanding. A special thank you to Marco, the manager, who was incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout the night. He graciously took pictures for us and made sure everything was perfect from beginning to end.
